198800201 3b8eb802bb m Start the year off right with fantastic January wedding invitations and ideas

After the hoopla of the holidays have passed and everyone has settled into the New Year can be a perfect time for your wedding. A fun or formal wedding might be just what friends and family need to pull them out of the winter doldrums.

Wedding invitations
Anything goes with you January wedding invitations. Draw on winter themes with crystal icicles or beautiful snowflakes. Your invitation should be the first hint at your theme, so pick something that you and your fiancé will love. Opt for a formal invitation with black, white and a touch of red or keep it whimsical and fun with snowmen.

You might want to consider getting your wedding invitations in the mail earlier rather than later. If your wedding is later in the month, you don’t want your invitation to get lost or caught up with the deluge of Christmas and holiday cards. This might be another reason to skip the winter themes and make your invitation stand out from the rest of the mail from this time of year.

Ceremony and reception
January offers many brides a chance to reduce costs and increase availability. Since a majority of venues and vendors are busiest during the summer months with brides and December with holiday parties, January can be a lull for most. Take advantage of lower off-season costs with vendors. And capitalize on lots of open weekends in January for your perfect – and efficient – wedding.

Your January wedding menu should include warm and hearty selections but steer clear of any holiday favorites. Your guests may have just enjoyed a month’s worth of holiday delights. Try a stuffed chicken breast for something different and delicious. Instead of a wedding cake, maybe cupcakes are in order?

At the bar, celebrate your wedding and brand New Year with champagne and champagne cocktails. Add the bubbly to orange juice or cranberry juice for delicious treats. Peach puree can make a tasty Bellini. And, of course, the classic champagne cocktail includes the sparkling wine, sugar and bitters. A champagne glass just might be the perfect touch for your wedding invitations and wedding favors, too. You’ll probably want to have some warm drinks handy, too. A coffee bar with flavored coffee, hot chocolate and cider and be a big hit in the cold weather.

Take the winter out of your January wedding
If you’re just plain sick of the winter, consider a totally different theme for your January wedding. A tropical theme will warm up your guests just fine. Add some Hawaiian décor and menu items and you’ll have a wedding luau in no-time. Or opt for a patriotic theme and celebrate like it’s the 4th of July. Turn your menu into a picnic and you’ll be feeling the summer warmth at your January wedding. Either of these themes can warm up your wedding invitations, too.

Take advantage of all that January has to offer and make your wedding memorable. Why fight with the June and July brides when you can have a great wedding and perhaps even save some money in the process.

1808985485 3b3f15186c m Invitations and Party Ideas For Everything That Comes Before the Wedding

Congratulations! You’re engaged. Now what? Now you start planning for your wedding and the best party of your life. But even before that, you need to get ready for months of parties, events and announcements for you and your fiancé.

Your engagement

Plan on letting your family and close know about your engagement with a phone call. Beyond that, you should put an engagement announcement in the mail and perhaps even in the paper. Traditionally, the groom’s parents will host an engagement party – handling the details – hosting, location, engagement party invitations, etc. However, these days, tradition doesn’t always dictate what will actually happen. Your friends may want to throw you an engagement celebration. Or, don’t be afraid to host your own engagement party. Since you haven’t settled on wedding invitations or wedding stationery, pick engagement invitations that suit your taste and style; if your subsequent stationery matches great, if not, that is fine, too.

Save the date

Once you set the wedding date, you’ll have to let everyone know. Before you send the wedding save the dates out, make sure you have picked out, asked and confirmed a few things: your wedding party should be set – asked and responded. Your wedding location and time should also be set. A definite wedding list should be done before a single save the date hits the post office. If a guest receives a save the date, they will be expecting a wedding invitation. If a guest receives a save the date and lets you know they won’t be able to make it then it is acceptable to move them from the ‘wedding invitation’ list to the ‘wedding announcement’ list. Your save the date should also include preliminary flight, airline, airport, transportation and hotel information. If you don’t have all the details make sure to note that this information is ‘to follow.’

Bridal Shower

Your maid of honor and bridesmaids should be involved in planning party for you, but feel free to give your input if you’re asked. This is your friends’ chance to throw a party for you, so don’t plan on having much of a say in this occasion. You’re a guest, the guest of honor – let your bridesmaids fuss over you a little. Don’t worry about your bridal shower invitations matching your wedding stationery – in most cases they don’t. This party is for you and your girls to get together and have fun before you get married. Typically, your bridal shower is a separate occasion from your bachelorette party, but they can be combined also.

The wedding invitation

This is the big hurdle. Once your invitation is in the mail, you’ll have only six to eight weeks until you get married. Choosing your invitation is a big decision, so make sure you compare and make the right decision. When sending out your invitations you should also make sure you’ve included up-to-date accommodation and travel information, adequate postage and correct wording. It bears repeating: an e-invitation to your wedding is never acceptable. Take the time to invite your guests either by postal mail or hand delivery. Also, the mention of gifts or registry is never, ever appropriate in your wedding invitation. Traditionally, this information is communicated through word of mouth or on your wedding website.

The bachelorette party

This is one last chance to get together with your bridesmaids and girlfriends for either a night on the town, a shopping spree, a spa treatment or just a night in for some laughs. One word of advice – if you are having your bachelorette party the night before the wedding, keep it tame. A late night, excessive alcohol or a new skin treatment could show up unfavorably in your wedding photos. If you’re going to cut loose, give yourself a few days before your wedding.

The big day

You should only have a few tasks on this day. You’ll have to look beautiful, walk down the aisle, day ‘I do’ and than have a great reception. One important job you need to assign to a friend or family member is the mailing of your wedding announcements. Typically, these go in the mail the morning of the wedding. Wedding announcements are meant for anyone who wasn’t invited to the wedding.

Thank-you notes

After the vows and the honeymoon, you still have one more task. Make sure you get your thank-you notes in the mail for your gifts, well-wishes or anyone who involved in making your big day a success. Some say that you have up to a year to send a thank you note, but why wait? A timely thank-you note is tasteful and elegant.

This is an exciting and hectic time; make sure you take time to enjoy it. There are a lot of milestones to celebrate, not just your wedding, so make sure you don’t miss a minute.

Check out MyExpression for great wedding invitations. You’ll also find a great selection of stylish theme wedding invitations, wedding announcements and wedding stationery.

3761430065 7c6d38b771 m Warm up your February wedding with red hot wedding invitations and ideas

When one thinks of February, the first thing that comes to mind is often Valentine’s Day.  While this can be a great theme for any wedding, the month of February can also offer a wide variety of themes.  If Valentine’s Day is not your style, consider a bright winter theme or even a Mardi Gras theme for your wedding.  The sky is the limit when you plan your wedding for February

Wedding invitations and themes

If you do decide on a Valentine’s theme for your wedding, start off with a red or pink wedding invitation.  Get your guests in the Valentine’s mood with this color family and even symbols and images that fit; for example big hearts and cupids are the perfect symbol for not only the holiday, but for your wedding as well.

If your style is not quite in-line with Valentine’s Day, you can still start with a great wedding invitation.  February is still winter and a snowy wonderland wedding theme can be just perfect.  Opt for bright white to mirror the snow and add in your own accent color.  It doesn’t have to be all red hearts for your wedding invitations.

Typically Mardi Gras falls in February and this can be a great, fun theme for your wedding and wedding invitations.  Mardi Gras colors are gold, purple and green.  Whether you use them together or pick one as an accent color, you’ll have stylish and festive wedding invitations and accents.  Mardi Gras always seems to give off a very festive and decadent vibe, translating this to your wedding reception can be the perfect theme for your reception.

Menu and beverages

With the winter weather you might want to consider a hearty menu.  If you’re keeping with a Valentine’s theme, consider a plated menu a deux; pairing delicious seasonal items on the plate.  Beyond that, your winter options are endless.  Think hearty as the chilly weather will make a warm meal seem even more delicious.  Maybe start with a hot soup course and continue with a steak or even pork in a rich gravy or mushroom sauce.  A Mardi Gras theme will require a Cajun menu for authenticity’s sake.  Consult with your caterer for the freshest ideas.

Your bar and beverages can run from the very standard to the wildly unique.  Stock wines that will pair well with your menu and think about some signature drinks as well.  Pomegranate or cranberry cocktails offer the red to match your valentine’s theme.  A Mardi Gras cocktail can be anything from Hurricanes, Mai Tais or any bourbon concoction.  More winter treats can come from a custom coffee and hot chocolate bar, too.  Don’t forget its still winter and your guests might enjoy a warm beverage on a chilly winter night.

February is more than just for Valentines, although, that can be a great theme, too.  Pick your wedding details and wedding invitations based on the elements from the season that really speak to you and you’ll have a stylish and unique ceremony and reception.  And keep your guests cozy and satisfied with a hearty menu and beverages and you’ll have an unforgettable February wedding.

350109414 6c4760143e m Finding the Best Beach Wedding Invitations

When considering wedding invitations, it is essential to consider the theme for the wedding. In recent trends, a surprising number of wedding ceremonies are being held in exotic locations. Destination weddings are a big hit, with an overwhelming majority of them occurring in beachside areas. When having a destination wedding, the wedding invitations should adequately reflect what the guest is expected to experience. Thus, it is advisable that beach weddings send out beach wedding invitations to the guests. Couples can find solace in the ample amount of companies and individuals who are willing to cater to every wedding need. These companies can furnish beautiful beach wedding invitations to fit most guest lists and budget requirements. These companies and individuals can also help generate creative ideas and entertainment that will make this special day all the more memorable.

Wedding invitations should adequately reflect the theme, if there is one, of the wedding. While simple wedding invitations can suffice, beach wedding destinations can spring some creative and inviting ideas that can produce some of the most beautiful and unique beach wedding invitations. Some of the more creative ideas incorporate tiny props, such as seashells, with elegant details. Others incorporate modern trends without looking kitsch, and invite prospective guests to celebrate this special event. More commonly, beach wedding invitations can be simple yet exotic with aquatic color schemes and subtle hints of coastal and island delights.

When choosing beach wedding invitations, couples should consult with different companies to garner ideas and receive quotes. Many companies catering to wedding invitations can provide couples with unique ideas within their budget. While expectations should not be unreal, most companies and individuals are able and willing to help couples seek an invitation that will make the occasion most memorable. Couples should be ready to provide wedding invitation companies with a general idea of what they would like and budget requirements to ensure the optimal results.

Couples should also provide the wedding invitation company with an estimated guest list. Both sides of the family should be consulted to ensure the guest list adequately reflects the needs of both parties. Also, it is advisable for couples to order more invitations than necessary, if budget allows. These extra invitations may come in handy for last minute invites or for scrapbook memorabilia. Regardless, the wedding invitation company needs to have a clear estimate of the number of expected invitations, the estimated budget, and an idea for what the couple would like.

With this information, the wedding invitations can adequately reflect the wants and needs of the couple! From here, the beach wedding invitations can be as creative or as traditional as the couple wants. Such creative ideas can include photographs of the couple and destination, small lightweight props, ribbons, color schemes, and much more! Destination weddings provide ample opportunity for creativity and imagination. What better way to express this side of the couple than by creating beautiful and imaginative invitations!

A creative and original wedding invitation is a great way to invite guests to this special occasion. Couples should take care in adequately reflecting their theme and destination in the invitations, so the guests can know what to expect! For the best results, couples should submit their wants, as well as their guest list and budget requirements to the selected wedding invitation company. With enough provided information, the wedding invitation companies can create beautiful and inviting invitations that will be cherished forever.

Unique Wedding Invitations

Posted by Admin

2226341391 d7da83bf59 m Unique Wedding Invitations

Wedding preparation is a strenuous endeavor for most bride-to-be especially if she will be the one to make the necessary planning for it. After setting the date for the wedding day it is time to make the wedding invitations. It is advisable to send out the wedding invitation for at least two months prior to the wedding day.

A unique invitation for the wedding is what every bride dreams of after all no one wants an invitation that is mass produced. A wedding invitation that is unique will amaze quests even before the wedding. The guests will surely remember the wedding date.

There are many unique wedding invitation ideas on the internet today. Below are just a few of those ideas.

Compact Disc Wedding Invitation
A compact disc wedding invitation is truly unique and it can also serve as wedding keepsake. This wedding invitation can include favorite love songs by the couple. It can also include a video of photos by the couple. The video can have a story of how the two grew up and how they have met. Nice photos of memories shared together by the couple should also be included. The finale of the video can be a photo of the engagement.

Wedding Invitation on a Glass Jar
This wedding invitation is another keepsake for your guests. This can be put on display in the living room as a reminder of the wedding date. The wedding information can be either engraved on the glass or a printed piece of paper with the information can be inserted inside the glass gar. Just fill the jar with colored pebbles, marbles or colored sand.

Pillow Wedding Invitation
The wedding information can be embroidered or printed on the cloth. A photo of the couple can also be included in the print-out. A watercolor effect on the photo can be used on the print to add elegance.

Ceramic Wedding Invitation
A ceramic wedding invitation is also another unique wedding invitation idea. For a more personalized touch the couple can design the ceramic. There are many items made of ceramic which can have a personalized print on it such as a plate, a mug or a coaster. For the plate, a stand can also be provided so it can be a wedding keepsake.

Magnet Wedding Invitation
Another unique wedding invitation idea is a magnetic invitation. It can be a printed invitation with magnet or a newly wed couple figurine with magnet.

311615119 e121085f15 m Advice for Wedding Invitations Etiquette ? How to Blur the Rules a Bit and Still Look Classy!

You just got engaged and you have told all of your friends and family your good news!

So you and your fiancé have discussed your future wedding and set a date. Next, you have to start shopping for your wedding invitations. Proper custom for mailing your wedding invitations would be popping them into the mail as soon as all the basic plans are in order, however they have to be mailed no later than 6-8 weeks before your wedding date. Choosing the design of the wedding invitation you like is as essential as choosing the venue of your wedding or picking your dress.

If your guests are traveling from far locations, then you can and should use “save-the-date cards”. Save-the-date cards should be mailed no later than 4 months before your wedding. However if you are scheduling your wedding for a far-off location, around a busy holiday, or during a peak season when flights and hotels will be reserved in advance, they should be sent out 8-12 months in advance your wedding. It will assist your guests by allowing them enough time to make travel and hotel arrangements.

The preparation of your wedding invitations should be done at least 4 months before your wedding date. This will save your sanity if any problems come up by giving you enough time to make corrections. However you can avoid any printer’s problems by designing your own wedding invitations. You should find out the amount of postage for your wedding invitations after one is put together. You can do this by taking one assembled envelope to the post office and asking how much it will cost to mail it. Your envelope should contain of your wedding invitation, response card, and the inside and outside envelopes. It is beneficial to your guests, and to you, to provide the postage for the response card. Don’t forget to make sure that the RSVP date is at least 2 weeks before the wedding. This gives you time to make a last headcount for your wedding reception.

You should start addressing envelopes 3 months before your wedding. Also if you have many guests to invite, it may take some time. If you set aside a small bit of time each day to complete a certain amount of envelopes (say 10 or 20), you will have them done in no time! You will also need a checklist with your guests’ names and addresses so that you can verify the wedding invitations often to prevent errors. Any computer software that keeps track of addresses or lists should do the trick such as Microsoft Excel or Access. I personally use Parsons Technology Address Book Deluxe 6.0, however I’m not sure where to get copies of this software. Don’t forget to place your guests name on the response card, so that you can know who has RSVP’ed and who has not.

On the day of your wedding or close to it (within about 2 weeks either before or after the wedding) is when wedding announcements should be mailed to those who were not invited to the wedding. You may not have invited them due because of various reasons such as budget problems, size of setting, or if you desired small, intimate wedding.

If you feel that the receiver may feel upset for not being invited or miffed thinking you are expecting a present from them even though they weren’t invited to the wedding, feel free to include a small, heartfelt note inside the announcement explaining why you weren’t able to invite them such as “We value your friendship, and wish for your blessing on our marriage, however due to (insert reasoning) we weren’t able to invite all the loved ones that we wanted to. We hope your happy thoughts are with us as we create our new life together. Gifts are not expected, and we look forward to spending time with you after our honeymoon.” Then include your new address or phone number on it, if your contact details are changing, so your friends, family members, or co-workers have a way to get in touch with you.

Keep in mind that good wedding etiquette does not stop with mailing out your wedding invitations. After the wedding is over, you will have to send thank you notes which involve more etiquette guidelines. Don’t forget that this is your wedding, and you can bend the etiquette rules to suit your desires. There are many wedding forums that discuss how to bend etiquette rules discreetly without upsetting your friends and family members.

2889462353 a4477072c1 m Handmade Wedding Invitations for That Personal Touch

Every bridal couple has their own distinct vision of what their perfect wedding day would look like and the style of wedding invitations they would like to send out to their guests. Some bridal couples want handmade invitations that are exceptionally elegant and sophisticated to match their similarly planned wedding reception whereas others prefer traditional all-white handmade wedding invitations as an introduction to their traditional all-white wedding reception.

Other handmade invitation styles run the gamut from elaborate and artsy to contemporary and casual; each style unique and distinctive, unlike run-of-the-mill store-bought wedding invitations where the only difference likes in the details of the wedding.

What makes handmade wedding invitations so special?
Anyone can go to a store and buy ready-made wedding invitations; the only deciding factor being the budget. A bridal couple with a higher wedding budget can go ahead and buy the most expensive invitations they can find whereas a bridal couple with a more restricted budget would have to spend some extra time looking for something cheaper. However, no matter how much you may spend on ready-made wedding invitations there is always something missing- that personal touch.

Having handmade wedding invitations reflects your commitment to creating an ambiance that is fitting for your wedding. They reveal your creativity, thoughtfulness and attention to detail and are sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests. More importantly, handmade wedding invitations give your wedding that distinctly personal touch that can never be bought or replicated.

Do you have to make handmade wedding invitations yourself?
Making homemade wedding invitations yourself can be a marvelous thought and you can certainly pull it off with élan if you have a limited guest list and plenty of time at your disposal. However, if you have a large guest list and limited time, you are better off getting homemade wedding invitations done by more professional hands.

Advantages of ordering handmade wedding invitations
Ordering handmade wedding invitations can save you time and money. Professionally done handmade wedding invitations have a distinctly look and this is because they are hand-made; the only difference being, they are made by hands other than yours. Besides looking sophisticated and elegant, getting handmade wedding invitations professionally done has other benefits as well. For a bridal couple who have set their heart on sending out customized handmade wedding invites, getting them done professionally frees up a lot of their time; time that could now be spent on the many other aspects of wedding planning.

Another huge advantage of ordering handmade wedding invites is that most professional wedding card makers would have everything they require right at their disposal. Trying to achieve the same effect yourself may involve having to buy special equipment and tools that could be a considerable expense.

Being able to order handmade wedding invites can also be a big boon to bridal couples who have the idea in their head but are not adept at executing it. It is important to make sure you explain your idea well and see the finished sample before ordering your handmade wedding invites en masse.

3633314614 8afb1597aa m Traditional Wedding Invitation Vs. E wedding Invitations

The prevalence of email and the internet makes the thought of sending e-invitations alluring, especially with its implied simplicity and ease. When it comes to sending wedding invitations, however, should you choose e-wedding invitations or traditional?

Pros of Sending Traditional Wedding Invitations

Traditional wedding invitations are printed on beautiful paper and have the benefit of being a physical object to be held, admired, and possibly kept and even framed. The style of your wedding invitation will denote a theme, color scheme, and degree of formality, along with delivering the wedding ceremony and reception details.

No matter how casual your wedding might be, it is still one of the most important days of your life, and sending a physical wedding invitation conveys your special day to recipients. In addition, your guests can also have a physical memento for their scrapbooks, as well as a reminder for your upcoming wedding.

There is a traditional wedding invitation available for every budget and many ways to dress up less expensive invitations to resemble custom ones using color, monogram, or foil-lined envelopes.

Pros of Sending E-Wedding Invitations

E-wedding invitations have the particular advantage of being sent virtually, freeing up your budget and reducing paper waste that a traditional wedding invitation would create. Your wedding invitation will be delivered instantly upon the click of your mouse on the exact day you specify. You can easily upload a photo, type in your invitation information, and include extras like a map. Instead of collecting numerous RSVP envelopes, you can manage your guest list online any time of the day or night. If guests don’t respond accordingly, you simply resend your invitation and request they RSVP.

Cons of Sending Traditional Wedding Invitations

You always take a risk when sending important documents through the mail. A portion of your traditional wedding invitations could get lost in the mail, or the wedding invitations could get damaged or ripped while being processed. Although these instances don’t routinely occur, it is possible, which is why save the date announcements are helpful in case a guest doesn’t receive a wedding invitation and can inquire why. Also, if you are concerned about the environment, paper wedding invitations might not be the best format for you.

Cons of Sending E-Wedding Invitations

E-wedding invitations, while providing instant gratification, do present major problems. First, not everyone has an email account or internet access, particularly older guests. Also, your e-wedding invitation can easily be routed to a spam folder and never viewed by the recipient. Emails are easily discarded and forgotten, making your job more difficult as the date draws closer and you have to resend multiple invitations requesting a response. Finally, it is difficult to invite guests to a black tie affair through email, as receiving an e-wedding invitation sends a casual message while also implying that your wedding isn’t a top priority.

Although both traditional and e-wedding invitations have benefits and drawbacks, ultimately, paper wedding invitations denote the type of importance, sophistication, and specialness that is inherent in your wedding day.

Whether you are planning a casual or formal wedding, be inspired by the vast and sophisticated array of wedding invitations, and you can find the perfect traditional wedding invitations that reflect your special day.

Your wedding is big day and it can be a big expense. If you want to have an elegant wedding but don’t want to break the bank, here are a few simple tips to put your mind and wallet at ease.

Your guest list
One of the easiest ways to save money when planning your wedding is limiting your guest list. A small wedding can be just as elegant as a big, grand affair. Invite only family, close friends and the wedding party for an intimate party. The rest of your guest list can receive an elegant wedding announcement. Don’t fret about sending a wedding announcement. It is perfectly acceptable to send an announcement. Your decision to have a small wedding should be respected by everyone.

Invitations
Typical wedding invitations can run anywhere from $3-$5 per invitations to beyond $20. Fancy folds, embellishments and printing can cause these costs to add up quickly. But there is an inexpensive answer. Consider do-it-yourself wedding kits. Many, many brides have saved and shined with do-it-yourself wedding invitations. These kits are elegant and can be personalized by you for a special touch. DIY wedding kits are the answer if you’re interested in saving money. Most kits include the wedding invitation, save the date card and reply cards, so all you need is your personal touch and you’re on your way.

Reception
Your wedding reception can be the most costly part of your wedding day. But there are many ways you can save and still have an elegant reception. Consider sending your wedding invitations for a ‘cocktail reception.’ This indicates to your guests that you will be serving cocktails and light snacks, but not dinner. This is a great way to mingle and enjoy your guests company, but still save on dinner costs. Another money saver can be celebrating your reception earlier in the day. If you’ve scheduled your ceremony for the morning, send your guests a wedding brunch invitation or even a wedding lunch invitation. Since venues and caterers are busiest in the evening, you may be able to negotiate a better rate for an off-time event.

Lunches and brunches will also save you on bar costs, since many won’t be drinking in the morning or afternoon. A lunch or brunch event can easily sneak by with champagne as the only alcoholic beverage. You can also save money on an evening reception bar by limiting what you are serving. Many wedding receptions offer only beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks for guests. Save money and skip the liquor; your guests will still enjoy themselves.

Details
While there are no ‘small’ details when it comes to your wedding, you can save money at every turn. Many brides have turned to E-bay or a consignment shop to save on their wedding dress. Your centerpieces can be as simple as Gerber Daisy with a floating candle in a low vessel. And often, photography students can photograph your wedding – and create some amazing photos – for much less. If all else fails, ask your vendors for a discount.

There are tons of ways to save and still make an elegant impact. Ask your friends and family who they can recommend, you just might find a great deal where you least expect it. Most of all, when it’s all said and done, make sure you have a great time and enjoy your big day.
