He asked, she answered and the ring was slid on the third finger of the left hand. They each may not be perfect but they seem perfect for each other. Plans are made, dates are set and engagement photos are soon to be taken.
No one is perfect and neither of these two folks were willing to wait for that non-existent specimen. The knight in shining armor dreamed about by little girls the world over may arrive not on a horse, but in a beat-up pickup or some other motorized conveyance.
It sometimes takes many repeated snaps of the camera to capture just the right image for use in the papers. Not many folks have experience with this type of photography and it may take a little while for them to become comfortable and natural when the lens is pointed at them, expectantly.
The one taking the pictures may ask for many different poses, and often will just snap pictures quickly, hoping to snare that elusive perfect picture. Doing this will also give the soon-to-be bride and groom an idea of what the wedding shoot will entail.
Getting to know each couple worked with is a very important part of being a wedding photographer. When the photo taker is familiar with the couple, better pictures portraying the two-some can often be achieved. Newspaper pictures may be the only look some family and friends get to see of the happy couple, both before and after the wedding.
If there ever would be a time when a side of one person is shown to the other that they have never seen, being in front of a camera for engagement photos may do the trick. Of course, this time can also be good practice for the upcoming wedding photos that will be taken as well. Once the entire fantasy-like marriage process is over, then real life can begin.
